Bio
How I started
I began my journey in athletics in Primary school. I used to be faster than everyone on the playground, and I took note of this. In PE, I used to love athletics, and that would shine through on sports days! I begged my parents to take me to a local athletics club that they had told me about. I started training there after school, and that’s where my love for athletes started! I even still train there to this day!
My greatest achievement
My greatest achievement is almost definitely reaching the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. This was a massive job as I had broken a Metatarsal with just a year to go until the games began. I had to nurse my broken bone back to full health. After that, I had around six months to prepare for the games. I had to undergo physio to run on my foot, and after that three month rest period, I had to train hard and compete even harder. Thankfully I managed to land myself on Team GB.
My greatest challenge
My greatest challenge led to my greatest achievement! Recovering from a broken Metatarsal just a year before the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games is a difficult job as it renders one of your feet almost unusable as you have to work through the pain. It took six months for the bone to repair to the point of being able to train again. After that, I had just six months to train easy and compete hard. I built up my strength over a three month period and began competing to gain my position on the team. Thankfully, I managed to qualify for the Commonwealth Games!
My hobbies
My hobbies include watching sports, going to the cinema and socialising with friends and family. I love sports! I have enjoyed watching football and rugby since I was a child. I also love films and going to the cinema! My personal favourite thing to do is socialise. Training takes so much time out of my days that I rarely get time to see my family and friends, so it’s these moments that I savour.
My future goals
My future goals include reaching the World Championships next year along with the European Championships and Commonwealth Games! I am looking to better myself in every aspect as I search for more medals in the future!
