How I Started
At the age of 4 my mum took me to Gymnastics because I was very energetic and my brother was attending the same club for trampolining. From the ages of 6-10, I was training on the trampolines and in artistic gymnastics alongside my brother. At the age of 11, I took to the Double Mini Trampoline after my first coach inspired me to give it a try, I was entered into a small regional competition, which I won, and this inspired me to continue pursuing the double mini, we began working on passes and honing in skills on the double mini trampoline. In 2016 I competed at the British Championships in Liverpool, I went into it wanting to have fun and enjoy my first experience on the national stage, I finished second and knew then that this would be the discipline I wanted to focus my training on for the future!
My Greatest Achievement
My greatest achievements are achieving a silver medal the World Age Group Championships in 2019. I was 15 at the time, wanting to reach the final, put through two passes, and land on my feet! However, after the pre-lims I found myself in second place going into the final and put through my second round of passes and was happy to have not only completed both but also look up at the board and see a silver world medal shown! I was over the moon as my parents had travelled to watch me compete and I knew that everyone at home was watching too!
My Greatest Challenge
My greatest challenge was the COVID-19 pandemic. With a lot of time spent indoors and away from training, I found that my fitness had decreased mentally and physically. It was a major letdown as in April 2020 was a European Championships so going into the first lockdown I was at peak fitness and ready to compete, so, unfortunately, I had to take a break and return in early August of 2020 ready to train for a World Championships, but over this time a lot of muscle deterioration had taken place since I wasn’t able to train properly, which was a blessing in disguise as while it was a hard lesson to learn, it was extremely necessary for my understanding of muscle deterioration and how my body will act upon taking a break from training.
My Hobbies
In my spare time, I enjoy drawing and being artsy in general and recently I have been really enjoying bullet journaling as it’s relaxing and lets me set out what I’ll be doing for the next month!
My Future goals
In the future, I am looking to be competing with the team in the Birmingham World Championships with my ultimate goal being to move over to Cirque Du Soleil to be a performer!
