Bio
How I started:
I started gymnastics through my granddad who was in the army. He used to run a sports club in the army and he used to do a lot of trampolining. When I was younger and I visited him he used to throw me about and let me run and jump over chairs, but after that we thought it was best to take me to an actual club. I started at the age of six years old and Gillingham Gymnastics Club!
My Greatest Achievement:
My greatest achievement is making the European Youth Olympic Team. I was selected in June but before that there were six competitions that counted towards the selection process. I was selected for Team GB originally at the age of eleven. The Youth Olympics were in 2022 as it was supposed to be held in 2021 but was cancelled due to the pandemic. This meant that I had to fight for my place on the team, but I had been coming second consistently throughout 2021 and early 2022 and thankfully I was selected for this major event!
My Greatest Challenge:
My greatest challenge was coming out of lockdown following the pandemic. I had told myself I wasn’t going to do Gymnastics after the lockdown because before the lockdown I had a lot of mental blocks that were stopping me from learning new skills. Things like doing full backflips were difficult as I was twisting halfway through and turning myself inside out! I got over it by taking it really slow, especially as I was allowed to go back into the gym earlier than others as I was classed as a professional.
My Hobbies:
Outside of gymnastics I enjoy driving as I am a big car person, but I don’t have certain hobbies as I mostly live every day how it comes spending time with friends and family, and dedicating my time to Gymnastics!
My Future Aspirations:
In the future I hope to be back competing for my country nationally and internationally again, but my aim is to slowly build up to being selected and competing in the 2028 Summer Olympics. This means I need to be selected for international events like the European Championships and World Championships.
