How I Started
As a child, I was doing flips on the sofa a lot, and as my parents got fed up with my antics they took me to a gymnastics club. A few years after I had began trampolining I was competing in the 2014 London Regional Championships and saw the DMT setup. I spoke with the DMT coach; John Whotherspoon, he introduced me to the sport and coached me for four years as he got me into the GB team where I met my current coach, Tom Holman and moved to Poole to pursue DMT.
My Greatest Achievement
My greatest achievement is scoring the 18th-highest score of all time and the highest British score at the Azerbaijan Team Finals. It was with a Triff Tuck mount and a half in half Triff dismount. I scored 29.1, but unfortunately, my teammate fell on his run which cost us some points meaning we didn’t achieve a medal, but I was more than happy to walk away with such a high score and a new personal best!
My Greatest Challenge
My greatest challenge has been the past few months of 2022. I have been struggling with chronic back pain for the past couple of years and at a competition earlier this year I threw a triple backflip and landed on my head at the back of the trampoline and sprained myself in 5 places. Afterwards, the pain in my back developed and got worse so I went for scans and we discovered the bone at the tail end was rubbing against my pelvis, causing small amounts of bone bruising.
My Hobbies
Outside of DMT I love Dj’ing and producing music and run an underground music collective called Blackboard Jungle where we hold live music events!
My Future goals
In the future I am looking forward to going to the Birmingham World Championships next year, I am excited for this as it means my family can come to watch and support me. I’m hoping to reach the finals and medal in front of a home-crowd. I am also hoping to become a performer for shows like Cirque Du Soleil.
