Bio
How I Started:
I’ve been playing table tennis for as long as I can remember. According to my dad, I was only two years old when I first picked up a bat, so small that I had to stand on a stool just to see over the table. From that moment on, the sport became a constant in my life, shaping my childhood and setting me on the path to becoming the athlete I am today.
My Greatest Achievement:
Some of the proudest moments of my career include winning a bronze medal at the World Championships, competing as an Olympian at the Rio 2016 Games, and earning multiple medals across several Commonwealth Games. I’ve also stood on the podium with a World Cup bronze medal. Each of these achievements represents years of dedication and the support of the people who’ve been with me throughout my journey.
My Greatest Challenge:
When I’m not training or competing, you can usually find me on the golf course. I love the challenge and the calm of the game. It’s a great balance to the fast-paced, high-intensity nature of table tennis.
My Hobbies:
One of my favourite things to do in my spare time is winding up either my dog or my girlfriend’s dog. I get a lot of joy out of this, although I don’t think my family does! Alongside my badminton journey I also deliver coaching sessions in Scotland for all ages and abilities, which I enjoy seeing each of my players’ development. Lastly, I am a massive fan of food. After my training sessions I am always very excited to go and stuff my face to “refuel”.
My Future Aspirations:
In the short term, my focus is firmly on qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Beyond my own goals, I’m passionate about helping to raise the profile of table tennis in the UK and inspiring the next generation to get involved in the sport I love.
