Bio
How I started:
I started Skiing in France on family holidays when I was two years old, and then I started racing in the village races over there when I was younger, and got into racing on the snow when I was seven. After that I started racing on dry slopes in England until I was 12 and began competing for Great Britain when I was 13 at the Children’s International Races until I was 16 years old.
My Greatest Achievement:
My greatest achievement is achieving a fourth place finish at the Children’s World Championships which isn still the highest finish of any British woman ever at that event! I had no expectations going into it whatsoever, and I was even late for my start! I just went out and sent it, and I had no clue that I had done well until my friend came running over to me ecstatic! I am also extremely proud of winning the English Alpine Championships in all disciplines which was held in Bormio.
My Greatest Challenge:
My greatest challenge is overcoming post-concussion syndrome. Skiing is one of those sports where you’re going quite fast, and there are a lot of things to hit. This affected me for about three years as it affected my vision mostly, but also that my body started reacting very oddly to anxiety, almost like a sort of hyper-vigilance, but I would also experience dizziness and headaches as a result of it.
My Hobbies:
Outside of Skiing, I enjoy going to the gym, running, Yoga, and playing rounders with my dog! I also enjoy reading, I enjoy reading most books, but specifically I really like reading sports psychology and translations of Latin literature. My favourite authors are Jane Austen and Cicero! Even more so I enjoy Sewing and like to collect patches from the places I have visited, along with any watersports, spending time with family and friends, cooking, and baking!
My Future Aspirations:
In the future, I’d really like to continue skiing and be competitive on the world cup tour, and in the short term I would like to be selected for the Junior world championships as I have already qualified! At the moment I compete in all discipline’s, but when I’m older I’d like to get into speed skiing.
