How I Started:
I started Gymnastics at the age of six when my former coach came into my school to host a PE lesson. After the lesson he told me to come to his gymnastics club to start having proper lessons and coaching. When I was younger I also played Football to quite a high level, but after a while I began to prefer Gymnastics because for one it’s an indoor sport meaning I didn’t have to be out in the cold, and also doing somersaults and skills is extremely rewarding and fun.My Greatest Achievement:
My greatest achievement is competing and medalling at the 2024 Senior World Cup in Slovenia. This was a year on after I broke my arm, and also my first senior international tournament for GB.A year before I broke my arm which put me out of training for six months. This meant that I had all of the rehab to do, and also build the strength in my wrists, forearms, and hands before even thinking of being able to compete. Thankfully, I made a complete recovery and even improved my scores in some of the national tournaments, which allowed me to compete at the 2024 World Cup where I achieved a bronze medal!
My Greatest Challenge:
My greatest challenge in Gymnastics was inflicting a stress response on my spine. This is essentially ranked as being on the verge of fracturing my spine, meaning I couldn’t train or even do lots of everyday movements like bending down, jumping, and sometimes walking! As a result of this my spine also narrowed and I was out for another six months. You just have to trust the process and not rush yourself in the healing process, because if you do, you might end up with an even worse injury! In terms of coming back to training I picked everything up quickly but had to pull out of the English National Championships.
