How I Started:
I started playing Ice hockey when I was three years old after my parents put me in a pair of skates! My dad was a huge Ice hockey fan, and being from Boston it’s a huge Hockey city which houses the Boston Bruins. I played a lot of different sports but settled on Ice Hockey and Baseball until I turned 18 years old when I had to choose one to pursue for College. I played division one Ice Hockey at Boston University while I was majoring in Communication. After attending Boston University I was granted another year due to the widespread lockdowns so I attended Canisius University in Buffalo, New York to obtain my Masters in Sports Administration. After completing my master’s I decided I wanted to pursue Ice Hockey professionally and so after looking at my options I made the leap over to England and began playing Leeds Knights! My Greatest Achievement:
My greatest achievement is completing my two college degrees while playing week in week out Hockey for the teams. The biggest challenge in this period was of course balancing my education with my sport in terms of ensuring my grades were maintained at a high level, and also performing on and off the rink.My Greatest Challenge:
My greatest challenge was moving to England to pursue my professional career. This was a huge change, and I had to look at a lot of different options in terms of countries I could compete in like Sweden, Norway, Germany, and even Slovenia! This has been difficult ever since because of course I am a six hour flight away from my family and I do miss some birthdays, holidays, and other celebrations.
