Bio
How I started:
I used to play team sports while in school but I broke my leg playing Rugby. I decided to stop playing Rugby and realised I was was one of the fastest children of the team so the transition to cross-country was easy. I began training and was picked for Scotland at the age of 15, and competed in a lot different events before settling on long jump around the age of 17.
My Greatest Achievement:
My greatest achievement is jumping the Scottish native record in August 2023. I jumped 8 metres to win the Scottish championships. That was a huge milestone that gave me the confidence to say that I could compete on even bigger stages!
My Greatest Challenge:
In 2022 I set my sights on the Commonwealth Games. I was around 9cm away from qualifying for the games before injured my ankle as I had a bone spurt which is when an extra piece of bone grows and pushes into the tendons. I missed a month of training, and I then took an injection to try and relieve the pain so I could get to the Commonwealth Games standard, but unfortunately it didn’t work in the end.
My Hobbies:
Outside of athletics, I enjoy following and supporting Arsenal, alongside my dad. I also play Golf as I was in the Scotland B team as a youth golfer, but then I chose athletics over Golf! I also spend my free time studying accountancy and finance at university.
My Future Aspirations:
In the future I would like to call myself an Olympian, I would also like to break the outright Scottish record, which is at 8.01m right now!
