Bio
How I started:
I started Gymnastics at the age of two, and my sister used to do gymnastics, so I was waiting for her to finish up in a session. As a hyperactive child the coach realised I could have some potential in the sport and offered to sign me up for the club. I did have a knack for it, I joined the club, started working on my levels, and finally joined a development group for ages 8-12 and began competing regionally from the club.
My Greatest Achievement:
My greatest achievement is definitely going to the youth Olympics in Slovakia last year. I was champion on the floor and also achieved two silvers, one as a team, and one on the high bar too! It was a crazy experience as it’s the first competition where I’ve been around lots of different sportspeople. I was in the village, in an environment where I was meeting new people, and I was in a country I had never been to or competed in before!
My Greatest Challenge:
My greatest challenge was my ACL rupture in February, this happened when I was on rings, did a dismount, and as I landed it just ruptured. I was doing my A-levels at the time, and I knew that if had to sit my exams following the operation meaning I would have had to sit them with my leg up in the air! The operation went very smoothly, but they take a part of your hamstring to repair the ACL, which meant that my legs were very weak following my operation.
My Hobbies:
Outside of Gymnastics, I enjoy going to watch the Football with my dad, I support Crystal Palace, and we have a season ticket so we go there as much as we can when I’m not training. I don’t get to spend lots of time with my mum and dad as I am training a lot, and I also enjoy spending time with the people I care about whenever I am not training like my friends and girlfriend!
My Future Aspirations:
In the future, I am hoping to be back into full fitness after my ACL injury, and breaking into the senior gymnastics field and joining the senior world championships team for GB. Further down the line I hope to be competing in the 2028 Olympic Games in LA, I want to compete as an all-rounder for Team GB, but also make the Floor or High Bar finals!
