Bio
How I Started:
I started Gymnastics at the age of 5. My mum pushed for me to get into it because my sister was training and competing too. I first attended Uttoxeter Gymnastics Club, and I enjoyed my first session! I had a lot of energy, and my mum wanted to give me a way to expend it, so I continued attending the club and began competing
My Greatest Achievement:
My greatest achievement is getting to the finals of the Junior World Championships. This was my first major championships and I was feeling very nervous because I had only ever been to smaller, friendlier international competitions, but this time every country was involved so the competition was harsh! As the event went on and I kept on performing I got more and more confident, but I felt a lot of pressure to get a result because I was representing Great Britain.
My Greatest Challenge:
My greatest challenge was suffering a stress fracture in my back. This came as a result of lots of training as I was growing, and I struggled with it for a couple of years. This made everything more challenging as I was training and going to school at the same time meaning my body wasn’t coping so well with being so busy and exerting a lot of pressure onto my constantly growing muscles, bones etc.
My Hobbies:
Outside of Gymnastics I enjoy playing music, especially playing the Piano and Guitar. I also enjoy spending time with my family and supporting them wherever I can!
My Future Aspirations:
In the future I aim to progress my career to be able to compete at the Senior championships around the world, and longer term I’d like to attend the Commonwealth Games next year, but I am also aiming for both the LA 2028, and the Brisbane 2032 Summer Olympics. Overall though I want to keep myself healthy and in a competition-ready state for as long as possible!
