Bio
How I started:
I started Gymnastics when a coach came into my school and spotted me for artistic gymnastics. I competed and trained in Artistic Gymnastics to the national level, but then had a short break and after around 4 weeks off, I went to a new gym and tried out Tumbling. I had done little bits besides artistic gymnastics, like the odd Tumbling competition, but had never focussed on it so this was a breath of fresh air for me at the time.
My Greatest Achievement:
My greatest achievement is being named on the world age group team last year, making the finals, and then finishing fifth. This was my first world championships so I was going out there to at least land two runs to my feet, but other than that get a feel for competing against every other country.
My Greatest Challenge:
My greatest challenge was starting quite late. I had to very quickly adapt to new techniques, learn new skills, and up my difficulty quite quickly so it was a very tricky switch in order to catch up with my peers. A year after I began Tumbling, the global pandemic began and I had to delay my switch over to elite, and I then got my chance in late 2021 to become elite and then spent a full year as an elite athlete for the first time in 2022.
My Hobbies:
In my spare time, I would usually be studying towards my degree, but I have just graduated in fashion design. I spend my time drawing, and working towards my goal of someday owning a Leotard company!
My Future Aspirations:
In the future I would like to represent Great Britain at a senior international competition. Either at world’s or European’s, and this year I want to make the British finals again and get into the final four. As mentioned I would also like to open my own leotard company in the future too!
