Bio
How I Started:
I started sprinting in school and was noticed by my teachers at sports days. I followed the same path as my brother and joined my first athletics club at the age of eight. This began as a hobby and gradually I became more serious about it as time went on and started to ramp up training. I began competing between local clubs and then competing in the English Schools championship where I represented my county, unfortunately it didn’t go as well as I would have hoped but I gained necessary experience of competing at a higher level that I would need in the future!
My Greatest Achievement:
My greatest achievement so far is becoming the British U23 champion in Chelmsford at the U23 British Championships. This was a big competition as it was trials for the European Championships, and it was a competition that my whole season was building up to last year. I am also very proud to say that I am a 4x British Universities Champion.
My Greatest Challenge:
My greatest challenge has been overcoming injuries that have come from accidents that have happened on the track during practice. Firstly, I tore my hip. This put me out of competition for the first half of 2022, throughout this I kept being selected for races, but then closer to the date I found out that I couldn’t compete. It was about two months of full recovery, but the problem persisted for almost half of the full season!
My Hobbies:
Outside of Sprinting I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend, on days out, going for food etc. I live at home for my studies and spend my time with friends and family too whenever I can.
My Future Aspirations:
In the future I aim to make it to the World Championships, these are held in mid-septemeber, meaning I have a lot of time to build up to that competition and I will be using all of the races next season to complete the 100m in the qualifying time. I will also need to come within the top 2 at the trials too. I also aim to compete in the next Olympics in LA, and hopefully medalling for Team GB!
