Bio
How I Started:
I started off as a sporty kid at school, took up a lot of sports in my primary years. I competed in long jump and got an invite to the local athletics clubs at the age of 12, and then when I joined I tried out more disciplines and realised that I had a knack for the throwing sports like Hammer Throw and Shot Putt. However, I didn’t begin training Hammer Throw exclusively until the age of 16.
My Greatest Achievement:
My greatest achievement is achieving a podium at the British Championships with a new PB, this happened at the right time as I was on my final throw and I managed to throw a brand new personal best, and get on the podium! In the past I had struggled with feeling like I could perform under pressure, but after this it made me believe that I still had a lot more to give.
My Greatest Challenge:
My greatest challenge has been overcoming injuries. I have had a few nasty injuries throughout my career, meaning I have had to go into a place where I can see that I will not only come back, but be even better than I was before sustaining the injury! Also, trying to work alongside training has been very difficult, but for the last two years I have been self-employed meaning I can manage my own time and give what I want when I want to my sport.
My Hobbies:
Outside of Hammer Throw I enjoy my job as a Sports Rehabilitator, as an athlete myself it feels special to help rehabilitate athletes and return them to the form that they were at before the injury. I love creative activities like painting. I also always look forward to travelling and have a bucket list of places I would love to visit in the future!
My Future Aspirations:
In the future I am looking to throw 70m+ and to achieve a GB vest! I want to qualify for my first major competition, and I am constantly working towards qualifying for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
