Bio
How I Started:
I started Ice Skating when I was 7 years old after watching a Peppa Pig episode about Ice Skating. My mum and dad then took me and I fell in love with the sport. I began competing at 11 years old and medalled in the Blackpool IJS, I was also picked out by a coach to start private lessons because I had a lot of potential which is when I became a little more serious about the sport and began taking lessons off the ice to perfect manoeuvres.
My Greatest Achievement:
My greatest achievement was after returning to skating I entered into a senior competition in Sheffield. This was after a three-year hiatus due to the rising costs and the global pandemic, so after a three-year break I began skating again and entered myself into this competition wanting to enjoy the day and get back into the flow of competing but I ended up coming out with a bronze medal which was not only a surprise when I watched the performance back, but also gave me a lot of confidence going into more competitions as a senior!
My Greatest Challenge:
My greatest challenge has been the financial aspect of the sport. Unfortunately a pair of skates can cost anywhere up to £1000, and with added travel and competition costs it can sometimes be difficult to keep up! As a younger skater it was also quite difficult to watch a lot of my peers going to more competitions, wearing the newest boots and leotards which was frustrating to watch as a younger person, but as I have gotten older I have learned the limits of my equipment and now know when is best to change out what I have as opposed to going off what others say!
My Hobbies:
Outside of Ice Skating I am a Gymnastics coach also Tumbling at the Gym I work in alongside making TikTok videos about Ice Skating and socialising with friends and family.
My Future Aspirations:
In the futureI am looking to audition for more Ice Skating shows such as Disney On Ice. I am also going to re-enter into one of my first national competitions where I am aiming to medal and get into a higher level. Throughout all of that I am also hoping to grow my TikTok page and continue creating content!
