Bio
How I Started:
I started Gymnastics at the age of six. My sister was already attending a club recreationally so I used to go along with my mum while she was there and it looked like a fantastic time so I asked to join the same club. After that I moved from Rugby to Devon, joined Falcons Gymnastics Club, where I still train to this day and I met my lifetime coach too!
My Greatest Achievement:
My greatest achievement is wining the silver medal on Floor at the 2024 Northern European Championships. Going into the tournament I wasn’t expecting a medal because I wanted to enjoy the experience of being there and competing on the day was what I wanted to get out of this. On the morning of the competition I wrote a note that said ‘Today I’m going to win a medal’ and put it in my bag as a good luck charm, and it worked!
My Greatest Challenge:
My greatest challenge was continuing the sport after having sustained the injuries that I had. I have had a tough time throughout my career regarding injuries as I have fractured my back, and also sustaining a bicep tendon tear which both put me out of training for about 2.5 years. However, I was quite lucky because after I had received surgery on my shoulder, the country went into lockdown for the pandemic. These injuries were back to back, I had just recovered from my shoulder tear when my back became fractured, but I learned a lot about myself and resilience throughout this period because I persisted with recovery and quitting gymnastics was not an option.
My Hobbies:
Outside of Gymnastics I am working towards a level 3 Personal Training qualification and a level 2 Gym Instructor’s certificate. I also like to go down to the beaches in my area and generally be outdoors because a lot of my training is based indoors!
My Future Aspirations:
In the future I want to compete in the Bundesliga again and finish another Northern Europeans, and hopefully I will be able to medal and succeed at these exciting competitions. I am also working towards my level 3 Personal Training qualification and the level 2 Gym Instructor’s certificate.
